Let's examine, Susan, "Sukey" Diggs, born in 1785. She was the cook, and housekeeper of Nathaniel Francis Cabell. Her son, Lewis Diggs, was the father of Sophia Diggs, mentioned on the "Nicholas family of Wingina" page.

Sukey's son, Daniel Diggs was born in 1820, and married Caroline Horsley, born in 1857. Daniel, was sent to work on the farm of Paul Carrington Cabell. Paul C., born in 1833, was the son of Edward Cabell, born in 1797. (See "Diggs" family line).

Edward was the brother of Mayo Cabell, born in 1800, of Union Hill. Mayo Cabell was the father of William Daniel Cabell, who married first, the daughter of Nathaniel Francis Cabell. Her name was Elizabeth Nicholas Cabell, born in 1834, and died in 1863.

Caroline Horsley, wife of Daniel Diggs,Sr., was the daughter of Frederick Horsley, born in 1821, and Millie Whitlock, born in 1823. Caroline and Daniel had five children together. Their names were, Eloise, Clara, Nettie, Susan, and Daniel junior. Daniel Diggs,Sr., died around 1910. (See "Horsley" family line).
